9th June, Parliament Square. Will You Be There?
On 9th June 2011, Charles Walker, the Tory MP for Broxbourne has an adjournment debate in the House of Commons on “Cannabis and psychosis in young people”. See here for details.
Adjournment debates on Thursdays are chosen by the Speaker. They last for half and hour and the MP who tabled the debate gets to open it and a minister replies. I don’t know whether this will be a Home Office or Health minister
Charles Walker has quite a record of asking questions on this subject and I’ve tried to correspond with him but he just dismissed me by saying “I don’t agree with legalising cannabis”. I’ve sent him quite detailed emails but he just ignores me.
I’ve been looking for a chance to distribute the medicinal cannabis leaflet in Parliament Square, so this is it. I will be in Parliament Square and Whitehall from lunchtime on Thursday handing out leaflets. I’d be very grateful for any help. As an inducement, I can offer as much tea, coffee or soft drinks as you can manage or even lunch if we meet at say midday by the Richard the Lion Heart statue.
