Des Humphrey

Des Humphrey has resigned from the CLEAR executive committee.  He sent the following message yesterday:

    >>
I am resigning from the executive committee with immediate effect, my reasons are of a personal nature, and will stay that way.  I will continue to campaign for the rights for all mankind to use cannabis for whatever reasons they require. This is of great regret that I have come to this decision, and would like to thank all members of CLEAR and the committee for showing so much support towards my efforts in the last year, I will continue to help with the MMM in Cardiff and the 4:20 in Hyde Park and Amsterdam.
    >>

I would add a personal comment: Des has been very supportive of CLEAR, especially through the difficult times of the past couple of weeks. It is particularly sad that a man of such integrity was put under a great deal of stress caused by people pursuing their own agendas. Des is a real gem and it is first and foremost for people like him that CLEAR exists.

Des is a true friend and a noble warrior for the cause. The stress he has been
put under by a small group of vicious individuals is unforgiveable. It is
difficult enough to cope with when you are in good health so I fully understand
his decision. He has stood by me through thick and thin. Now, I and the other
members of the committee will be doing all we can to support him

Des was a stalwart campaigner who gave his all.

It seems that Clears’ success is its biggest failure.

In a very short time you have taken a pathetic joke of an organisation that did the cause more harm than good (through its public image and in-fighting), and you have turned it round to become a fast growing and successful organisation, that is fast becoming a real pain in the sphincter to the prohibitionists.

The real sad part is that too many supposed anti-prohibitionist organisations are now so jealous of your success that they are attacking you.

If they really supported the cause, and they put one tenth of the effort into working together and fighting prohibition that they put in their jealous attacks on others, then Prohibition would have ended years ago; they need to grow up and realise that this is not about individual personal glory, but it is about working together as a team to bring about an end to an unjust prohibition.

You can’t help but think this is a ‘Divide and Conquer’ technique driven by the real Prohibitionists, targeted at those with a bit too much hollow space between their ears.

This is exactly it. What we have here is a group of people who all oppose clears plans because either they are dealers who don’t want to lose out on their primary income, kids who don’t like the idea of age restrictions and dreamers who don’t want to pay tax.

The people that instigated this mess should be ashamed of themselves for putting unneccisary stress on hard working campaigners or are not well.

Forcing people to quit is low, we will not let them win.

    • vicus

      You’re so right Joe90.

    • Rich

Well said Phuxake, they will not win.
There are to many who want Clear to succeed.

Good luck and best wishes to you Des.

Resigning is hardly “standing {stood} by me through thick and thin”, he’s jumped ship.

How is this make believe going to help you?

It’s not make-beieve sadly, it’s reality. Reality is one of the most difficult things we have to deal with.

This is a shame and those who through prejudice or whatever should hang their heads in shame for putting anyone who campaigns so hard for Medical MJ under such needless stress, how very dare they!  I can fully understand why Des has done this, and I hope those who cause these needless petty stupid nonesense will take themselves out of the equation and think of others instead of their own ego driven agendas… CLEAR is making a difference, a real difference and that is scaring the shite out of someone and denting a few over inflated egos too.

Des was loyal to the last. I can’t speak for Des but can tell you he was subjected to a lot of pressure from callous people intent on causing harm. I hope they feel proud.

resigning because of personal reasons, is hardly jumping ship, he has a family to think about also and why on earth should des have to suffer ridicule and abuse?  what has des or anyone else done except get us as close as we have ever got to getting MMJ legalised?

    • Joe90

If any of you want to know where all the attack on the Clear work to
fight prohibition are coming from then check out alun buffrys’ website

Don’t forget to leave some comments about your thoughts on how aluns efforts are affecting the cause.

I resigned from the execetive committee for personal reasons and health reasons, I was asked by PoliticsUK to give an interview today which I kindly refused as their questions would have been about my reasons for resigning, I did not jump ship as is being suggested, I was not pressurized from any outside influence or inside influence, certain issues I agreed with and other issues I disagreed with, cannabis use for all users is my main concern be it medical, recreational, spiritual or just to feel good, I am still a payed up member of CLEAR until at least the AGM, which I hope all members make an effort to go to so we can all have our say and see all the work that goes on behind the scenes
