Jeremy Browne, Drugs Minister, His Vision Of Liberty.

    Jeremy Browne MP

“And in the coming months, we will go further. We have rolled back the authoritarian state. Our next project is to roll forward the liberal freedoms of the individual – overturning many of the rules and regulations that stop people from making their own choices, taking their own risks, and getting on with their own lives.”

Inspirational stuff!  Published last Wednesday, 23rd January 2013 on the Liberal Democrat Voice website.

Does this apply to drugs policy,  minister?

    • Charlie

It probably won’t as some people are more equal than others

    • MeeMan

He wasn’t taking about drugs specifically. This is merely part of a speech about liberties.

    • Sour Alien

Does this apply to drugs policy? I wish, if they applied this approach to our drugs policy, then they get paid less.

    • MeeMan

He’s a LibDem and it was the LibDems that have been pushing for a re-write of our drugs policy for decades. Non more so than recently with Cameron and Clegg arguing over it, with Cameron saying a big fat NO to everyone that wants to sort it out properly.

    • Sour Alien

Funny because apparently Clegg is ‘breaking the taboo’, and Cameron remains the reason why a taboo and black market for cannabis exists.

    • MeeMan

      Exactly.
I wouldn’t trust either to sweep the yard outside my house without supervision but with Clegg I know anyone walking past wouldn’t be beaten down by a horde of cops but with the Ca’moron, I’d know he’d be straight on the phone to them; on behalf of his Pharma Sponsors.

Is the distillation of ethanol going to become a legal activity in Britain then?

      Compare legality:-

with illegality, ( for example ):-

And exactly the same principle applies to all other substances which alter the state of mind.

    • Sour Alien

”Ca’moron” lol! Yes it seems Cameron thinks he is the knight in shining armour when it comes to the drugs policy…saying NO to every expert in the land, decapitating all logic and reason and every harm reduction plan possible as he rides his trusty steed – Theresa May – off into the sunset.

    • MeeMan

I’ve seen Theresa May. It’s probably the only ride she’ll get.

    • Sour Alien

LOL! May, another prick suffering from a total disconnect. Why are these arseholes put in charge? I get more sense out of banging my head against a brick wall than i do from those two subhuman waste of organs.

    • MeeMan

Oddly enough, being as Cameron has taken Cocaine and Cannabis, I think that may preclude him from actually being a viable organ donor.

    • Sour Alien

Well then a donation to science :)

    • MeeMan

Not as a cadaver but as a door-stop, as he’s just a dead weight. lol
