    Melanie Phillips, Queen Canute Of The ProHos

    Legend has it that King Canute was the wise one.  It was his courtiers and sycophants that told him he could hold back the tide.   He knew better.

    Queen Melanie knows nothing.  You could be forgiven for thinking she’s swopped sides, so hysterical, ranting, embarrassing, damaging to her own cause is this outburst.

    It reveals the emptiness, the intellectual dishonesty, the travesty of reason, logic, common sense and humanity that is her argument.

    This desperation is yet another sign that we are winning.

      Have you noticed how much the ProHos now regularly admit defeat and say that we’ll soon legalise everything? Closely followed by the legalisation of murder & rape (of course).

      True, she made herself look a right fool, Raving and ranting, I thought she was going to start foaming from her mouth..

      When are they going to just accept that the public know the real reasons why cannabis is prohibited. Thanks to the internet(and CLEAR), there is no running away from the truth. 

      Cannabis is here to stay, as it has been for thousands of years and will continue to exist……… Until the end of days…

      Tax it and regulate it, and end the suffering of millions of innocent people who are deprived of this amazing plant.

      … sorry this was my first post… hadn’t finished! I was saying, what makes me laugh the most is I know people who work at the daily mail and their regular use of class A drugs makes this kind of discourse utterly futile. I also understand class A drug abuse is widespread in the journalistic profession. I have no evidence to back this up, but isn’t it time to stop the hypocrisy? We all know newspaper are here to make money and campains like this create entertainment which helps sells papers. Anyway the ongoing decline in Newspaper readership will one day make people like this redundant and silence them for good. Looking forward to that!

       Outrageous that the Chair allowed the “useful idiot” slur to stand unchallenged. Branson’s one of this country’s most successful businessmen;  exactly the sort of person to get the country out of its economic problems.
       Phillips is the idiot! She’s happy to hand a blank cheque to prohibition forever, regardless what it achieves and whether we can afford it.

      i find that people against the decriminalization of cannabis love to group the casual weed smokers along side with the serious drug addicts, such as heroin, crack etc.

      This makes the weed consumers look like they advocate the use and sale of hard drugs.I see this as where the argument gets hazy (so to speak).
      Someone needs to address that casual cannabis use is the main aim of the decriminalization push, not the legalization of smack…

      I wish I was as rich as Branson. I was screaming “shut the witch up!” at the screen while she was ranting away. You can tell the Daily Fail knows it’s loosing as its gone into full ”Reefer madness” mode.

      Having worked in the newspaper industry I know backhanders & drug use are rife & they all have files full of dirt on celebs & MP’s to publish to boost circulation or to promote their adjenda.

      quick calculation: taking the daily mail’s readerhip figures between 2004 and 2011, if the decline continues as such, in about 30 years, no one will be reading the paper! how does it feel to be part of a sinking ship? …
