Used in the sense that it appears to be a part (consciously or not) of everything we do and while we may not be able to prevent it at least with clear evidence and a little thought we can mitigate it.

I hope you get the chance. While you are waiting, the more you practice the better you will get.

Speaking of the Olyimipics, it seems to me that the message that the money is not just going to London but is in fact reaching all parts of the country appears not to have been incorporated into Clear policy. Suggestions that this is a view driven by parochialism will get no disagreement from me. :)

He did have a very supportive audience, which is always nice if you are engaged in tub thumping. Paxman would still rip PR to shreds.

Listening to them more than him I felt that while they had obviously done some research and tried hard to find ways they could support his view their levels of ignorance were rather worrying. Whatever it is we are doing we need to look hard at this state of affairs and improve our efforts. Complacency is not an option.
