This Is The Future Of Cannabis. For Medicine, Nutrition And Pleasure.

One of these vape pens contains Blue Dream sativa cannabis oil, 91% THC, the other is Hindu Kush indica cannabis oil, 85% THC and the spare cartridge has the dregs of some New York City Diesel sativa, 85% THC.  You can't tell which is which to look at them but each has a distinctive flavour and effect.  They're not completely odour free but almost. This is the future of cannabis as a consumer product.  It is cleaner, neater, handier, healthier and better for you than...

The Sickening Cruelty Of UK Drugs Policy.

Hats off to Coronation Street for the fantastic job they are doing on the Izzy and medicinal cannabis story. This storyline is beautifully paced, very powerful, deeply emotional and is doing wonders for the cause of those who need cannabis as medicine. After so many years of disappointment at the way the media have treated this issue, the producers and scriptwriters at Corrie are excelling themselves.  They have shown how cannabis has very real therapeutic benefits, how the law humiliates...

CLEAR and GroGlo Establish First UK Clinical Trials on Cannabis for Chronic Pain.

CLEAR has formed a partnership with the research arm of GroGlo, a UK-based manufacturer of high power, LED, horticultural grow lighting. The plan is to grow cannabis under a Home Office licence for the production of cannabis oil, both as a dietary supplement and for the development of medical products.  To begin with, a low-THC crop of industrial hemp will be planted.  We will be using the finola strain, originally developed in Finland and known for its short stature and early flowering. Unlike hemp grown for fibre, finola...

CLEAR Withdraws Its Endorsement of UK CBD

CLEAR can no longer endorse or recommend UK CBD as a supplier of CBD products. This decision is made with regret but is unavoidable due to a number of problems which, despite our best efforts, have proved impossible to resolve. Our endorsement was based on UK CBD’s ethical and quality standards but the position has changed and the directors of UK CBD have been unable satisfactorily to address our concerns. Our main concern is that certain products marketed by UK CBD contain...

King’s College Confirms Institute of Psychiatry Misled Media On Cannabis Brain Study.

The Institute of Psychiatry at King’s College London issued a press release on 27th November claiming that its latest study shows cannabis causes damage to the corpus callosum.  This was widely reported across the world and many publications extended what was already an inaccurate claim into saying that this “damage” was a cause of psychosis. As I have already reported and as confirmed by the NHS, the study showed nothing of the sort.  Then, last week, by accident really, I discovered that quietly and with...

Blatant Dishonesty From King’s College London. Institute Of Psychiatry Untrustworthy.

On Friday, 27th November 2015, the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London issued a press release titled “Study shows white matter damage caused by ‘skunk-like’ cannabis”.  As a result, hundreds of media outlets across the world have published to the effect that cannabis use causes changes in the corpus callosum, the largest white matter structure in the brain, which is responsible for communication between the left and right hemispheres. Professor Sir Robin Murray: Causation Or Just Correlation? In...

Anti-Cannabis Cult At Kings College Punts Another Scare Story

It's the Institute of Psychiatry at Kings College London, yet again, with another terrifying story about cannabis that is immediately distorted, exaggerated and misrepresented by the scientifically illiterate hacks of Fleet Street. This time though King's College itself has reported the results of its own research inaccurately and published false and misleading claims. Can King's College explain why its press release is headlined "Study shows white matter damage caused by 'skunk-like' cannabis", when the researcher Dr Dazzan...

“Cannabis: The facts” or “Cannabis: The speculation”?

The NHS Choices website carries an article entitled "Cannabis: the facts". NHS Choices is usually a good source of information and indeed this page carries some sensible sounding advice, for example, about the 'gateway effect': Does cannabis lead to other drugs? While most people who use harder drugs like heroin have used cannabis, only a small proportion of people who use cannabis go on to use hard drugs. However, buying cannabis brings you into contact with...

Massive, Long Term Study Shows No Health Harms From Cannabis. Where Are The Headlines?

Long term cannabis use by teenage boys is not linked to later physical or mental health issues according to a very large, long term study published by the American Psychological Association. Where are the front page headlines, the hysterical editorials, the hand wringing, bleating and scaremongering from the Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mail? They seem to be very quiet on this one. To be fair the Mail has covered it but the leaders in anti-cannabis propaganda at...

Cannabis As Palliative Care.

The highest priority for CLEAR is that doctors should be able to prescribe medicinal cannabis. The government continues to insist that cannabis has no medicinal value despite the huge amount of evidence that it provides real relief for a range of physical conditions. CLEAR has produced a summary of the evidence for cannabis as a medicine. The ability of cannabis to treat physical symptoms is the essence of campaigning for medicinal cannabis, it has nothing to do...
