Facebook Says Calling A Black Man A Baboon “Doesn’t Violate Our Community Standards”.

On the other hand Facebook says that recommending a responsible, reputable supplier of verified, lab-tested, legal CBD food supplements does violate its standards. At a guess (because you can't get a straight answer from Facebook about anything), the issue is "We prohibit any attempts by unauthorised dealers to purchase, sell or trade prescription drugs, marijuana, firearms or ammunition." Now CBD food supplements are fully legal products.  They are not prescription drugs.  True, CBD is present in cannabis but it...

CLEAR’s Submission To The Parliamentary Inquiry Into Medicinal Cannabis.

This was the response that CLEAR submitted to the APPG in February 2016.  In March 2016, Roland Gyallay-Pap, then managing director of CLEAR and Peter Reynolds, president, were called to give oral evidence to the Inquiry. A PDF copy of this document may be downloaded here. A copy of the Powerpoint presentation delivered by CLEAR at the oral evidence hearing can be downloaded here.   Introduction In June 2015 the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Drug Policy Reform (APPG) published a short report arguing for a rescheduling of...

Home Secretary Invites CLEAR To ‘Enter A Dialogue’ On Cannabis Law Reform.

In a letter dated 15th August 2016, Amber Rudd, the new Home Secretary, has invited CLEAR to raise "any queries and concerns" about present UK policy on cannabis. This is the first time since 2006, with Charles Clarke, that the UK cannabis campaign has had any direct contact with a serving Home Secretary.  It reflects the reality, now recognised in government, that changes in cannabis policy are imminent. In...

Nanny State? Tabloid Lies? Now, So-Called Reformers Are Doing It For Themselves.

Skunk scaremongering is blossoming again. This time though it's not dire warnings from the Home Office or the Institute of Psychiatry drumming up some new research funding. It's not even the Daily Mail or, more likely these days, the Daily Telegraph, misreporting some obscure study and turning every 'might' and 'may' and 'could' into terrible, scary certainty. No, this time it's the newbie intake of...

This Is The Future Of Cannabis. For Medicine, Nutrition And Pleasure.

One of these vape pens contains Blue Dream sativa cannabis oil, 91% THC, the other is Hindu Kush indica cannabis oil, 85% THC and the spare cartridge has the dregs of some New York City Diesel sativa, 85% THC.  You can't tell which is which to look at them but each has a distinctive flavour and effect.  They're not completely odour free but almost. This is the future of cannabis as a consumer product.  It is cleaner, neater, handier, healthier and better for you than...

CLEAR and GroGlo Establish First UK Clinical Trials on Cannabis for Chronic Pain.

CLEAR has formed a partnership with the research arm of GroGlo, a UK-based manufacturer of high power, LED, horticultural grow lighting. The plan is to grow cannabis under a Home Office licence for the production of cannabis oil, both as a dietary supplement and for the development of medical products.  To begin with, a low-THC crop of industrial hemp will be planted.  We will be using the finola strain, originally developed in Finland and known for its short stature and early flowering. Unlike hemp grown for fibre, finola...

GW Founder And Chairman, Geoffrey Guy, Explains Sativex

“Most people in our industry said it was impossible to turn cannabis into a prescription medicine. We had to rewrite the rule book. We have the first approval of a plant extract drug in modern history. It has 420 molecules, whereas every other drug has just one.” Source   Sativex is whole plant cannabis oil.  It contains all the cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and other compounds present in the plants from which it is made. However, the Medicines and...

CBD – The Non-Psychoactive Cannabinoid?

I don't agree. I believe that CBD is psychoactive in its own right. The commonly held wisdom is that CBD counteracts or ameliorates the effects of THC, is anti-psychotic, pain relieving but non-psychoactive. So, I have my own theory. The only evidence I can offer is from experience. Firstly my own, both over time and one particular, recent incident. Secondly, an experience we can all share that provides insight - even without consuming cannabis! Before...
